Website & Flight Deals
Skyscanner.net is a travel metasearch website for flights, hotels and car hire. Flight search seems the core business and Skyscanner is a good place to start with it. They promise to show all flights results even where they have no financial benefit.
As a flight search site there are some nice functions like Flights to Everywhere. Exactly, you can search flights from some place to Everywhere, which is good if you are looking for cheap travel ideas and are open to consider suggested destinations.
The flights and hotels calendars let you discover dates when air fares and hotel rates are cheaper. To view the calendars: In the flights search form, click the departure or return date box, toggle the "Whole Month" tab, select a whole month of the year or the "Cheapest month", hit the search button. In the search results a calendar will show different colors for cheap, moderate and expensive days for flights, now toggle the "Hotels" tab to see similar information for hotel rates. You can check other months directly from this calendar view.
When you search flights, in the search result page you will find a "Price Alert" button. Click the button and set a flight price alert to be informed when flight ticket prices change. You'll have to register unless you are already a registered user.
Skyscanner is a travel metasearch engine therefore users are redirected to online travel agencies to make their reservations. Even though users can rate these online travel agencies, Skyscanner website doesn't show such ratings in a prominent way.
For what concerns hotel reviews, Skyscanner shows reviews which are provided, and so identified, by Tripadvisor.com and Trip.com, the latter parent company of Skyscanner.
